Sirius knew Hesper wasn't an overly affectionate woman, or, really, an affectionate one at all. Neither was he an affectionate man, not really. Though with some of his closer friends he would show them he cared with a pat, a touch, or even at times a hug or a kiss on the cheek. Lycoris had been the only of his children to have affection rained on her by him, and even that at times was guarded. He didn't really need it, or give it, but there were times when it would have been nice, even to have a kiss that wasn't mocking blown in his direction. Just - anything. Just once. But he'd given up any hope for that a very long time ago. The best he could hope for with her was a truce of sorts, a short standing one, even, but it seemed that that was an impossibility as well.
But this was his issue, not hers. He had known how this would go when he had married her, and still he wanted nothing more than to possess the beauty that captured his heart with nothing more than an offside glance. He was simply being sentimental, it was a rare mood, one he had never really had, but until it passed and he was more of himself, he should do her a kindness and spare her. That coupled with his anger over her leaving with Arcturus and not even bothering to tell him who she was going with or where still pricked his skin, and rather than take any more of his bad mood out on her, he would rather just go until he was out of this - whatever it was.
"I don't want to go." He looked over to her then and was met with the back of her head and shrugged as he sighed, rising from the bed and moving towards the door. At the door, he stopped and turned back to face her. "But I should. Today has been ruined already, and perhaps tomorrow if you write to me, if you want to see me, perhaps then - perhaps whatever idiotic mood has come over me will be over and done with."
