Our time is running out You can't push it underground You can't stop it screaming out How did it come to this?
Laurent had been in an inactive blind rage as he read the conversation between his twin and Kaden Riddle. He couldn't act out on it, and it was the most difficult thing he'd ever had to do just to sit there and read as that little bastard talked about his daughter's condition, talked poorly to his niece and then, the final straw, to call his brother a coward. By that time he'd had all he could take. Between almost being forced to leave the clinic today and then seeing this conversation in his journal, he was at his breaking point. He had reached his absolute limit of shit he could sit back and do nothing about. He had considered simply not saying a word to Eti and just going on on his own, but he knew his brother better than that. Once Eti found out what he was up to, whether it was all said and done by then or not, Eti would have just taken up his cause and rushed headfirst into something else or the same something in his honour. It was best to just tell him now and go through it together, as they did everything else. And besides, there was no one else on earth he wanted at his side, no one he trusted to have his back more than he did his twin. He wondered what they were getting themselves into, couldn't help but think that this would be the Letrange's last stand, but despite the thought, and despite the fact that he was dragging his brother along with him, Lorrie knew that after this, it would be over in one way or another, and that everyone else around them could have peace after they did this.
He had said his goodbye to Tressa, fully intending to come back and see her tomorrow, and then left for home with Tracy by his side. Showering and dressing, he couldn't stomach the sight of food, but instead played with the infant version of his daughter, allowing the blackness of his thoughts to slip into the background for a while, as he put on the happiest face he could muster.
But all of that, watching Tracy fall off into a somewhat peaceful slumber, playing with his daughter, everything he had done earlier that evening though it had only occurred just a short while ago was a distant and vague memory as he stood in the foyer of their home, shoulder to shoulder with his brother, wand poised to touch the Mark that had been burning with a summons for quite some time now. "Ready?" he asked, bringing his wand nearer to the Mark before taking a breath and touching it's tip to the serpent, it's burn immediately relieving in his arm as he vanished from their home and reappeared in a room full of former comrades, men and women he had once called brethren, and, the Dark Lord himself.
Braelin and Rodolphus had been on the right side of the room, a good way into their duel as both of them had gashes and were bleeding, while on the other side Matthew and Lucius had been locked in an intense priori like spell as their wand jets met blue and gold in the middle of the room. Both sets of duelers had stopped the moment they became aware of the twins presence in the center of the room, but none of them moved to speak, as it appeared some were surprised by the sudden intrusion. Lorrie didn't give any of them a chance to react, just as he knew his twin wouldn't, and taking the element of surprise that they had in that moment instead turned the full of his attention to the four that stood on either side of the Dark Lord, wand stream immediately lighting red with the full force of an angry Cruciatus and aimed for either of the two, Kaden and Lyra as they were so close together, that stood to His left. Sebastien had been stunned at their appearance, and when he saw the wands lift and point in their direction, disapparated, with a prayer on his lips, and reappeared on the floor next to them. To distract them and ask them why at this point would have been folly, all he could do now was stand with them and pray that they would see reason and leave the room before any real harm could be done.
