How I love the way you move And the sparkle in your eyes There's a color deep inside them Like a blue suburban sky
Life was actually pretty good, he thought, for the first time in what seemed like a very long time. The family wasn't fighting, at least not openly, no one was hurt or being threatened at the moment, and they were even sharing time out of the house and doing things together. The evening out was one Rodolphus was sure they all needed, and one the shop keepers they had come across would never forget. Nearly a dozen Lestranges all together in one room, it was enough to turn any place over on it's ear with the bustle for perfect service and the desire to satisfy their large group of customers. It was a rare thing, to be sure, but as impromptu and rare as it had been, it had also been a great deal of fun. After seeing the monsters off to bed, Rodolphus hied away to his study to unwind and catch up on a bit of reading, perhaps have the cat nap he had missed after dinner tonight.
After a quick stop in the bedroom he shared with Bella, he changed into his favourite blue pajama bottoms and made the short trek to his study, picking up the book he had left lying open on the arm of the couch, and flopping, full body, onto the soft leather cushions. He regretted not fixing himself a drink before he lay down and got comfortable, but he was sure he would be up again shortly, or that an elf would wander in to check and make sure there was nothing that he needed.
