Well it does depend on how the person takes it, and what alies or enemies he might have. Some become self-pitying and angsty when isolated, but some people might *enjoy* isolation - more time for practice and the library!
Even self-isolation, moving away from others yourself, might not be motivated by angst. It might just as likely be out of practical consideration - if I knew I had pyrokinesis, and that it could be unconsciously triggered, it would be highly irresponsible to go clubbing and drinking every other night.
Alternatively a person might have a tight circle of friends, the only two or three mages in town, complete with inside jokes and arrogant distance from the Muggles (or whatever you call them).
So I think it's very possible to de-angst such people, overall.
