But, yes, that does get me back to the point I meant to make and now I'm rambling in type the way Eddie Izzard rambles in stand-up. Oi. Why not try to make a list of syllables that appear often in... some language or another. Like, um. Okay, in Japanese? The alphabet doesn't consist of single letters but of syllables. Except for the vowels. For example
a, i, u, e, o ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, sa, shi, su, se, so
So instead of making an alphabet that starts with single letters, you make one that starts with slightly more developed building blocks for names and things, and go from there?
