Characters in search of a novel
I find myself stalled and wonder if my situation is at all common. I did some writing on post-to-play website and found that I was a good writer in that context. Many of my friends encouraged me to start an original work of my own using characters that I had previously created. I've found that is easier said than done, so I guess I'm interested in knowing if other people have had similar problems and what they did to solve them. To put it in a nutshell I have no problem creating believable interesting characters, but I can't make up my mind about their world or the point of the plot.

I suppose what I'm curious about is where do other writers start? Do you start with a character or do you start with a plot or a conflict or an idea? Have you ever created a character in one genre and rewritten it for another genre?

Oh and the most important question of all... Is anyone alive out there?

    Current Mood: curious
