"I was a pilot for most of the journey but then I did some other things for a while. It all, the military training that is, came back there just before the end."
"The end, well that was something that I suggested, giving up our technology for the most part, going back to a simpler life. I didn't know it meant I would lose her though. Maybe that would have happened anyway. Doesn't make me miss her less."
He listened carefully to what Remy was saying about the guilds. the thing that struck him most was family and following in his father's footsteps. "Did you want to follow in your father's footsteps or was it something that was forced on you like it was on me?" He considered his own question. Would he have been drawn to Kara like he was if he hadn't gone into the military? Would he have even met he at all? He supposed he would have, after all he had met her through Zak. Would it have been different for them after Zak's death though. He really couldn't say.
This concept of honor among thieves was still doubtful to him. After all, his experiences with Zarek and Phalen and their ilk hadn't in any way shown honor on their parts. Then Remy used some more unfamiliar terms. "Catholic?" he frowned in confusion, "and obviously there must have been more than nine commandments but I have no idea what a commandment is. Something to do with orders I suppose, but orders from who, your Guild Leader? your father?"
((OOC-Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. I'm trying to respond to longer one-on-one threads in the order I receive them but I'd only made a list of Lee's female partners since there are so many of them and managed to loose this one in the clutter of other stuff marked as unread in my inbox.))
