Winter vacation had been uneventful. Jeff hadn't realized just how slow that vacation was going to be, but if he had he would have done something to try to get home. Even if it would have meant being around family that he wasn't entirely sure was supportive of his life choices. He knew certain ones would never be accepted but those were ones they weren't ever going to find out, he believed. Unless it was too late for them to do anything. Then they might find out. Since coming to FCU he'd been considering sending them mail or calling or even sending a post card. However that never seemed to happen. He never had anything to say when he tried to put pen to paper. He tried to think of things he could tell them but there was just nothing. Not much had happened during his first two terms at FCU. He'd made a few friends and enjoyed some great times chatting about video games and comics, and he'd done well at school but otherwise nothing exciting really happened. That didn't stop him from having high hopes for this semester though. Maybe things would change.
With the term started campus had already filled back up. Jeff knew that he was going to be in the Mathematics program, but he wanted to make sure that there weren't other programs he wanted to take part in. That meant that he had to take some of his general education classes early on. The past few terms he's been taking three classes, two of which were general classes. The last was a math course of some sort. This semester he had a class in the English department and another in the Science department. The Science class was fun, but the English class hadn't managed to really catch his attention just yet. That might change later on but reading and interpreting had never been his strong suit. With his backpack on his shoulder, Jeff made his way around campus without a destination in mind. He put a hand through his hair and scratched his scalp on the way. Jeff wasn't really paying much attention to what was around him but he was doing a pretty decent job making sure that he didn't run into anyone.
