From his pocket, Eddie produced a small velvet box with a green bow, setting it down on Effie's dresser top. In the box was an emerald necklace worth at least a hundred thousand easy. "This is for you. What you do with it is up to you, but it's almost Christmas you know, and you are my daughter."
Eddie wandered over to the liquor and began to make himself a drink. "Hungry? I can order some dinner and we can chat if you'd like." Eddie turned to Effie and smiled, holding his drink up some, "You know...:your friend with the...eh, teeth, could be useful to us."
