He looked at her, head tilted just slightly away as he took a half-second to consider that. Found his mind sidestepped from hollow thoughts of being unable to go back and tell anyone who'd understand about what he'd done to save these two. It took a moment, but he got it under control by watching Tsume's icy blue eyes.
Then the miserable little ball he always forced his longing for home into sank further away from his thoughts, and he gave her a weak, honest little twitch of a smile. She was going left, he was going right. They'd be back here again.
"Any time..." He paused, and tried. It wasn't as hard as it might have been. "...Tsume."
