This was entirely pathetic, and Haruichi was hardly happy to know he'd played a part in the state these two were in. Though he reminded himself, with a sharp jab right to his own wits, that they'd be dead if he hadn't been there and they'd all do well to remember it. Triage was an ugly business, requiring the ruthlessness expected of any ANBU, and that was enough to say on the matter.
He looked away from Tsume and her creeping wariness and down to her cringing companion. Kuromaru was sniffing at his sneakers, and Haruichi sighed quietly despite himself.
"It's alright, Inuzuka-san," he murmured lowly to the dog, lowering a hand slowly for the dog to sniff if he wanted. Pika considered it good manners, so hopefully Kuromaru would too. "You'll be fine in an hour or so." |
