Well, that was one way of saving time. Raidou shoved his lockpicks away and got to his feet, absently picking up the kunoichi's kunai as he did so. His back stung, warning him not to move too quick; he ignored it as best he could.
The seep of warm blood down his hip demanded a little more attention.
"Master plan," he said thoughtfully, slapping a hand over the wound again. "Well, getting out alive usually ranks as my number one priority..."
He tucked the kunai into his belt, slid his mask back into place, and regarded the kid. Kaito's smile, lightning quick but definitely there, lit up the serious lines of his face for a moment, showcasing a set of lady-killer dimples. Or man-killer, Raidou thought belatedly, remembering the felled politician in the hallway.
Still, a smile was good. And the kid was thinking--even better.
"I've got about fifteen clones upstairs wrecking havoc," he said. "So how about we grab some embarrassing pictures of your target to keep the Powers That Be happy, and get the hell out of here. How far can you translocate?" |
