Raidou laughed very softly, warmth bleeding into his skin from her hand and her breath. For the first time there was no fear in the brush of body-warm air across his neck. It was simply another part of Tsume. "Sure, lil' boss," he mumbled quietly, "everything's all right."
At some point he was sure he'd be embarrassed about this; big strong ninja didn't kneel before their teammates and get petted. But right now he was too relieved, too grateful, to care.
And for a woman with claws, Tsume had very comforting hands.
Time settled gently around them, bringing little more than shadows and a tiny sliver of moonlight through the barred slit of a window. None of the other men stirred. Raidou breathed slowly, suddenly weary down to his core, and tried to summon up the energy to move.
"'m'knees are starting to ache," he admitted finally, breaking the moment. "Think we can toss your friend off his cot to make some room?" He had no intention of letting Tsume sleep alone in a cage full of morally-ambiguous ninja, no matter how un-rapable she claimed to be. |
