"I understand," Rena answered quietly. "If you care about someone, it's worth a try, I suppose. I just think you should be careful, that's all." Ultimately, it was Thomas's decision, after all, and Rena would leave it at that, at least for now.
Rena was slightly surprised when Thomas reached out, seemingly out of the blue to reassure her about her place in the pub. While she'd be lying if she said she wasn't worried about the inevitable changes this would bring, that she wasn't feeling afraid of being replaced or forgotten, but she'd never admit it, not to Thomas or anyone at all. In a way, the fact that Thomas was addressing this unspoken fear made her a little uncomfortable, as though it was more real when spoken aloud.
"Well, it wasn't like I was going to let you get rid of me that easily," she retorted with a smirk, deciding to make light of his words, if only because that was the easiest way to deal with them.
