Thomas hugged her closer when Abby started crying, whispering faint soothing sounds. "It isn't your fault," he whispered. "I don't blame you, Abby, please- please don't blame yourself. We were taken advantage of, we fell victim to our trust of someone who didn't deserve it. But that's over now, and we're together- and nothing, nothing will change that again." He pressed another kiss to her hair. "I'll stay with you tonight," Thomas assured her. "And be as patient as you need me to be. I'll do- say anything. I want you to believe how perfect you are in my eyes."
