Penny pressed her lips together thoughtfully, trying to imagine what it would be like to simply let go and feel all of those emotions in a rush. Frankly, the thought frightened her more than she would have liked. The thought of going against the grain, of defying everything she had ever been told was right, it was unsettling. She wondered for the hundredth time how it was that Gen positively glowed from the things that made her pale.
A small smile touched the corners of Penny's lips at the description Genevieve gave; she always was a sucker for a good story. "I imagine it would be like that," she conceded, "but this is not a story, Gen. What if you guys get caught? You could be disgraced and he could be dismissed!" Leave it to Penny to do the fretting while Gen reveled in the excitement and exhilaration of it all. "You could ruin your marriage prospects!" Penny added, wringing her hands anxiously. She didn't mean to sound like their mother, not exactly, but she had been always told to worry about such things and she wasn't so adept as her sister at shrugging the responsibilities and expectations aside and they always seemed to nag at her.
