"Something like that," she agreed, offering another smile. She stepped just away from him- not so distant as she had been, but not so close as to be improper. Gabby glanced up as he cleared his throat, wondering if something was wrong, but she brushed it off for the moment.
Gabby bit her lower lip as the smile fell from his face, and she wasn't sure if she had said something she shouldn't. "I- thank you." She slowed in her tracks and leaned up to give him a brief kiss on the cheek, blushing faintly as she looked to the ground and continued walking- she hoped the action hadn't offended him any. "I- I'm going to ask him to look out for you, too. I couldn't bear it if something were to happen to you, either."
She followed him off the main road and nodded, smiling again. "I'll be sure to. I know I was hoping to find a few wildflowers that are supposed to be good."
