"Cliches have a basis in truth, or they wouldn't be so poignant," Thomas replied, smiling- he was glad to see Vaan relax a bit more. "I'm glad to have helped you," however that might have been, "and I do wish you luck tomorrow."
Thomas refilled Vaan's glass- the movement was reflexive, even if Vaan hadn't requested it. "Business has been good," he said, simply. "The roads are getting busier, as they always do in the summer months. I know that the Gray Death has people scared, but life must go on as normally as possible even still."
