Edric was perplexed. Was this the same creature that had just turned him into a ragdoll? It did not seem so. Edric scratched at his cheek, unsure of himself.
The dragon sounded so young, it did not fit the image of a fierce and mighty beast with enough strength to kill a thousand men. Era’s constant mention of her mother brought up memories of his own mother; it was a bittersweet memory. Sighing, Edric looked up at the dragon, “Well, uh...we’re talking now.”
Conversation was never something he had ever excelled in. That combined with the fact that this was his first encounter with a sentient animal, made him lost for words. He simply did not know what to say.
