He shot arrows at her, tried to stab her, and then he acted as though she were the dangerous one. It both irritated and confused her. But it did not make her want to kill him. Era considered what the man might have that she could want. If he needed her scales for gold, that meant he had no gold to trade. Which was too bad. She would have liked some for her horde. It seemed highly unlikely that he would have any possession worth exchanging. The thought crossed her mind that she might trade for his weapons. She didn’t need them, but she did not want him to continue to use them against her. Still, it wasn’t what she really wanted.
