Angie didn't like to have her suspicion confirmed any more than Edric seemed to have liked confirming it. He looked so disheartened! If she knew him better, she would have given him a hug. She admired his ability to survive because she could see that he went through everything she went through (twice!), without the benefits of being royalty, and turning out okay, if not better! Angie hoped he would perceive that she understood at some level. "I'm sorry," she murmured, laying a hand on his arm for a briefest of seconds.
His tone change though, and she drew her hand back, matching his smile with a weak one of her own. "Your parents would have been proud with how well you have done for your sister and yourself," she said with firm belief. "I think I should like to meet your her one day," she declared, as the thought spontaneously popped into her head.
