"I don't see why you couldn't. I'm not sure how the kittens would react to him, but he's never caused any trouble before." Gen lifted her shoulder in a shrug. She didn't mind, really. The only person she didn't really want to see at her house was her mother. That may have seemed harsh, but she didn't care- not after the way her mother had treated her.
Gen hadn't meant to make things so serious; she only worried for her sister. With her out of the house, she didn't want her mother to choose somebody as awful as Mssr Spebbington for Penny- and Gen didn't know if Penny would be strong enough- on her own- to stand up to their mother. "It's the best feeling in the world," Gen admitted. "I still don't have the words for it, though I've been trying to figure them out most of the time. But I do hope you have that opportunity, love."
She bit her lower lip, looking back to her sister. "I'm sorry- I don't mean to make things so serious! This is supposed to be a fun visit!"
