"No?" Rena inquired, trying to disguise the fact that she still had no idea what it was that Molly was talking about. Fortunately, Molly went on to explain what it was that happened with a bit more detail and Rena couldn't help but be impressed. Making rocks bounce off the surface of water? Well, it sounded pretty incredible to her, almost like magic. "It's not terribly hard, is it? It seems as though it would be... though I think Bridget would certainly enjoy it." It seemed that the littlest things fascinated Bridget and really, that delighted Rena.
Rena noticed a slight change in Molly's expression when she mentioned the pond freezing over. "I think there's a stream further up that doesn't freeze all the way," she offered. "It's pretty swift-moving so it usually continues to flow except for the bitterest of winters." It seemed so strange to her to be so reliant on water but Molly had been raised by the sea; it must be so strange to be so far from it.
"Okay, I'm ready," Rena verified, readying herself to make the catch. This time, she actually caught, holding it up in a small show of triumph when she did, grinning and setting it on the shore alongside the other stone.
