Rena nodded, not quite understanding what she was missing that was apparently so obvious. Her first thought was a pang of worry that she was missing something that should be very obvious to an average woman, one of those things that she had missed with her upbringing. For the most part, she had gotten past most of that but every so often, she ran into yet another thing that she should know how to do already and she had to flounder to not only learn how to do it but hide the reason she didn't know it already. "I don't know much about skipping stones," Rena admitted slowly. "You'll have to teach me." She hoped it was just one of those things she didn't know because she hadn't lived near water, like swimming.
The toss of the stone was unexpected and though relatively accurate and gentle, it startled Rena enough that she missed the stone, yelping and jumping in a surprisingly girly reaction. Once she realized what she had done she burst into laughter, her cheeks flushing slightly in embarrassment. "I don't know what's gotten into me," she admitted. "Let me find it." She reached down carefully into the water, plucking out a couple stones before finding the right one. "Here it is!" she declared, moving the stone to the shore.
