Rena hadn't made it far into the water but she had made it in, which to her certainly was a good start. Of course, she knew it wasn't much but well, one step at time, right? She was still getting used to the idea of willingly submerging herself in water, after all, and she wasn't about to plunge herself fully into the water until she had a better idea what to expect. Though, at this point, maybe standing in the water would be an improvement; she would certainly feel less exposed if she was covered at least in part by the water.
The splashing caught Rena's attention though she resisted the urge to turn around until she was ready to go toward the water. It wasn't until Molly held up the flat stone that Rena realized that she had been searching through the shallow water for rocks. "A rock?" she inquired, puzzled by the unusual request. "I would be happy to do it but what ever are they for?" Rena couldn't even begin to fathom the purpose of this exercise but she was willing to comply if that's what it took. While Rena couldn't imagine herself ever having that easy grace that Molly seemed to have as she cut through the water, she figured she could at least learn to get herself out of the water safely should she ever fall into it again.
