"I know exactly what you mean," Abby admitted, her voice much softer. "I'm still afraid, quite often, that I'm only dreaming or that something's going to happen and I'm going to lose them again. I don't think I'm strong enough to lose them again." Her cheeks flushed faintly and she looked down to her cup of water. "That's why it was so hard for me to lose them, when they were gone."
