It was silly, but Molly didn’t mind if Abby knew. This wasn’t the most private of places so she kept her voice low. “I don’t feel very strong. If I was strong, I’d have stayed with my family – no matter what. I just – they don’t need me. And there wasn’t anything there for me any more.” It was shocking how much she desperately wanted Abby’s approval – wanted anyone’s approval. Her words were still vague, smearing the information that would have given understanding to her companion; but it was more than she'd entrust to most anyone else on the subject. She felt horribly guilty from the secrets she kept, even though they were personal and harmed no one.
Molly’s eyes lit. “I’d never thought of it that way. Well, if they’re like ropes then maybe it’s not impossible.” She echoed Abby’s smile.
