When Molly reacted so positively to Rena's invitation, Rena felt quite encouraged. "I wouldn't mind at all," she assured her, already beginning to think about what she would do. She'd certainly have to tidy up, perhaps get some biscuits or something. She'd have to take a trip to market, without a doubt. It was strangely exciting!
Rena was a bit surprised at the turn the conversation took but as Molly went on, she began to see the connection. "I don't know anything about sea animals," she confessed. "I've only heard about them in tales and I can only imagine what they look like. I am not even sure what they even look like! All the same, they sound like admirable creatures." She liked the way the starfish sounded and she wondered if they looked like the paintings she had seen in books as a child, a distant, clouded memory. Of course, the paintings were often fanciful and even those were barely remembered. She imagined that Molly would love those books and she found herself wishing she had one she could show her, even if she would have a hard time explaining how she had such a treasure.
