"I think it's normal to want your own place," Rena considered. "I don't know, I feel like I'm a bit unusual. I do enjoy my place, though, don't get me wrong. Now that Thomas has a wife and such, I feel it is better for me to be out from underfoot." There had been no shortage of tension between Abby and Rena since Abby's return and though it seemed to have lessened to a degree, Rena knew that it wasn't her place.
Molly's joke elicited a smile from Rena. "I will definitely keep my ears open," she promised. "Hopefully one that doesn't come with unneeded advice for what to do with the space!" It was a joke, really; Rena hadn't truly minded the well-meaning advice of the older woman, though often she felt that people were waiting for her to settle down with a nice boy from town. She'd been around Greenville for sometime but Rena couldn't help but wonder if they expected her to marry one of the townsfolk to truly be considered 'one of them'. Really, she had no intention of marrying at all!
