Now, Genevieve wasn't really trying to rile the horses. However, it was mid-morning and Julius wasn't awake. He was nearly always awake by this point, and Gen had heard one of the maids whispering that he hadn't gotten in until late last night. While she wasn't deliberately riling the horses, Gen certainly couldn't help it if they got excited by a visitor, and she wasn't about to quiet them down. She could hear Julius grumbling and she smiled perhaps a touch smugly to herself before sweeping her skirts up with one hand to climb the ladder up to the loft, pausing when she was just high enough to fold her arms on the floor of the upper level and peer at Julius with a grin.
