Molly bobbed a curtsy back to Bridget before the little girl scampered off. She felt much lighter after talking to Bridget, and she smiled to herself as she worked.
She was lost in her thoughts again by the time that Thomas approached. Still, it took her only a moment to realize Thomas was talking about his daughter. Molly glanced over at the girl chatting companionably with the patrons. “Who, Bridget? No, she’s no trouble.” Quite the opposite actually. Concerned that maybe she should have asked Thomas’ permission before offering to teach her an old sea shanty, Molly belatedly mentioned, “I – um – offered to teach her a song. It’s old children’s song – Rhyme of the Chivalrous Shark. But I won’t if you don’t think that’s okay.”
