“Well, I’ve never met the Shark myself, but I know two men who swear they barely escaped with their lives!” Not wanting to scare Bridget, Molly added, “But they’re terrible teases and neither you nor I should believe a word they say.” The men, of course, were Theo and Bran. “I’m certain that were you to meet him today, he’d invite you over for tea and share a story with you himself. He’s awfully proper that way.”
Bridget wasn’t all that difficult to talk to, Molly was finding. She still wasn’t certain how she fell in the hierarchy of things, but then Molly was never certain of any of that. Deciding that continuing their acquaintance may not be a bad thing – may, in fact, be a rather pleasant way to pass the time – Molly offered, “If you like, I’ll teach you the song sometime. It’s a little long, but it’s not a really hard one to sing.”
