He wished he could read minds sometimes, some of the elders at the Citadel could, just so that he knew what others were thinking. Though he supposed that would make things a lot more complicated in some situations. Realizing he had been lost in his thoughts for longer than he had wanted to be, Vaan shook his head and nodded. "Me too," he replied, giving her an absent smile.
"Thank you," he said quietly to the maid, taking his plate and fork. "This looks delicious," he said, cutting off a piece of cake. "I'm glad you're having a good time, and I'm actually quite excited to try this tea of yours!" Vaan proclaimed, chewing his strawberry shortcake enjoyably. "Anytime you need to me test any new blends you let me know," he said nodding, then said through chewing another piece of cake, "Even after I've left Greenville. I'll fly back and--" he swallowed, "--give it a try." His lips were turned up in a smile, his eyes crinkled at the corners.
