Gen's increasing need to push a point that was uncomfortable to Penny only served in increase her unease. "Gen, I don't know what to say to you," Penny replied anxiously. "I don't know, how can I know? I've never met anyone who I have seen any indication could be my soul mate. How can I be expected to know these things?" She knew she would be a loving and devoted wife, but she had always felt that it was something out of her control, not something she should be worrying and thinking so extensively over. Thinking about it only distressed her, particularly the way Gen seemed so quick to press her own choices on her.
"Yes, we will," Penny replied softly, gulping. Shaken as she was it was difficult to maintain a sort of composure but she put up a valiant effort. "We could walk the gardens, or perhaps take a ride," she suggested.
