Penny laughed at Gen's declaration that she would still come back and visit, knowing in her heart that it was true whatever she might say. "I know, though I'll take any excuse," she admitted fondly. "Perhaps I'll even come watch. Who knows, it might be interesting!" It wasn't that Penny was truly interested in learning how to cook but rather, things were always more interesting when Gen was around and it would certainly be something to do that was out of the ordinary routine. She was beginning to wonder when the ordinary had started to wear on her; she had always been so satisfied before.
"Where have I been going? Well, just to town; I haven't the courage to go further than that. You never know what you might encounter in the forest - ogres or specters, I wouldn't know what to do!" Penny exclaimed, the mere thought of such horrors bringing a frown to her face. She did her best to shake it away, instead focusing on her trips to town. "I've been visiting my friends mostly, having tea with Gabby to calm her nerves since she is a wreck over her missing brother and lending books to Matt since he seems to love them so much but - oh don't tell anyone! I'm afraid someone will become upset with me for lending out the books even though he is so careful!"
