"Oh, yes," Penny confirmed with a nod. "You look different - more at ease, like a woman rather than a girl," Penny explained as best she could, wishing she was as articulate as her sister could be when she wrote her stories. It reminded her with a pang that there would be no more stories before bed but she forced herself not to frown; she was happy to see her sister and she didn't want Gen to think otherwise!
It was for that reason that Penny didn't dwell on the fact that Gen was a bit anxious over their mother, instead focusing on the invitation to visit. "Oh, I'd love that!" she exclaimed sincerely. While her parents had not quite picked up on it yet, Penny had learned to enjoy her little outings and being able to go visit Gen on her own would certainly make her feel less lonely. After all, if she could visit when she liked she would feel less helpless for sure. "I can't wait to see where you've set up your home and see what your life is like."
