Except, of course, for the fact that she worried for the fact that she was unmarried still, but it wasn't something for pleasant tea conversation, was it? Still, she was curious about her friend, all the same. "How do you intend to marry? As my sister did?"
Penny was very curious about marriage outside the world of her family, safe behind the walls of their estate. She already had an inkling of what it was about from Matthias but it wouldn't hurt to ask Gabby, as well, since she was a woman of about her own age. The idea of choosing one's own husband was so new and strange to Penny that she wondered if many women lived as such.
