Penny reached for the jam to spread on her scone nodding to Gabby's reply. "It is indeed! It pleases me greatly that my sister should have such joy. Perhaps someday my mother can forgive her. Love is no crime, nor is happiness. So little pleases her lately," Penny sighed. "At least our father was supportive, but he has always had a fondness for my sister." Penny smiled, setting the jam aside as she finished it.
"I think the worst of it is the fact that I miss my sister," she admitted, reaching for the butter. "I have not ever lived without her and she like one half of me. It is dreadful quiet without her around." Penny couldn't help but laugh, knowing that Gen was the source of much of the noise in their household. "I am grateful that I have friends to visit," she added with a smile toward Gabby. "I suppose I shall become accustomed to it in time and I suspect that my mother will be all the more eager to find me a match."
