Looking up when he didn't hear the sound of boots on the wooden floor he stood quickly, nearly knocking his table over, a few of the maps falling to the ground. "No! I mean, of course you aren't," he said, bowing deeply. He hadn't forgotten about her coming to visit, but he hadn't known when to expect her. Vaan smiled over at her and pulled out one of the chairs nearest the table out for her, motioning for her to sit.
The room was nothing special. The table and four chairs were situated in the corner furthest the door, a window in the center of the far wall. There was no bed, just a sizable bookcase across from the table and a wardrobe against the wall nearest the door. He didn't sleep. Ever, and he needed to occupy his time doing something productive so he always made a point to read a few books every couple of days. Or at least make a dent in his studying for the Citadel.
"I hope your day has been good so far?" he said, pulling out his baton. Flicking his wrist idly the maps gathered themselves from off the floor and stacked neatly on the table, two teacups and a pot floating over from the top shelf of the bookcase, "Tea?"
