"He will," Gen replied, her voice soft but very certain. "He's a good man, Penny. We're..in some ways we're almost too much alike- stubborn and hardheaded- but we know what we want, I suppose. We fight, but we turn around and make up and it's- I don't know. I can't imagine my life without him. He sees me, and he knows me, without the frills and finery, or the money that makes up my dowry- and he still loves me, with my faults and insecurities and just...everything."
She blushed faintly, looking toward her feet for a moment. "Papa wouldn't change his mind after saying yes. And- well, no matter what, Julius and I will get married, even if we have to elope to do it."
She looked back to her sister, unable to help her smile. "Perhaps. And yes- that would be lovely, I think. Nothing too fancy, but- a simple white dress, with a bit of your embroidery..it would be quite lovely.!"
