Truly, Penny thought, that Julius must love her sister if he would go through all that trouble to make her the ring himself. "He surely goes up in my esteem with each word you say," she confessed to Gen, smiling warmly. "I worried that he wouldn't be a good match for you but I know he'll love you well and what more could I wish for you?" Even Penny, who had so much of her mother's ideals ingrained in her could see this now.
Penny giggled at Gen's description of their mother's view on marriage because it was quite accurate, though she had no illusions to the fact that her mother would still want the same for her. But that wasn't something to be thinking about now. "I doubt even Mother could make him go back on his word. She's pushy but he's honorable. Whatever she tries, I don't imagine that you and Julius would back down," she expressed thoughtfully, knowing full well that their Mother would try something, though she couldn't say what. "But I imagine a bit of haste wouldn't hurt."
Penny was pleased, though, that Gen wasn't going to rush so much that she wouldn't allow herself some pretty things to wear for the wedding. Penny would have regretted it fiercely if she couldn't help her sister feel beautiful as a bride and she was relieved that she was willing to wait at least long enough for that. "I'm sure they could pull something together quickly if we asked them to," Penny replied. "And then I can do a bit of embellishment to make it special!" It was a simple thing but it made Penny excited all the same; she did love beautiful things.
