"I didn't, I swear it," Penny replied quickly. "But it was strange, as though my mind was slightly foggy, disconnected. I didn't feel like myself. Still, I didn't encourage it, I wouldn't!" She followed her sister's lead, not directly mentioning the potion, though it was the first she'd spoken of how it had made her feel. It frightened her that she'd been so affected by it and it was certainly an experience she didn't wish to repeat any time soon.
It was uncomfortable reminding herself of the potion and its affect so joined her sister's laughter over the ridiculous surname. "Oh, it is," she agreed. "I think I shall only marry a man with a nice name. That is, should Mother ever deem anyone suitable enough." She sighed, watching Gen roll over.
"See there is the difference between you and I. I see a future of being married, being a dutiful wife and later, mother, but the man is faceless. You know the face but not the setting," Penny mused thoughtfully, though her tone was a little sad. "We weren't ever supposed to have a choice so I don't know if they ever planned for us to make the 'wrong' one."
