Penny laughed when she realized that the day had been so hectic that they had never even wished each other a happy birthday. "Goodness!" she uttered in surprise as Gen reminded her what day it was. "Happy Birthday, sister. I am glad that since I have to share it, I can share it with you," she teased. Penny couldn't really imagine not sharing a birthday, or anything else. For her entire life, she'd always shared everything with Gen from a nursery to toys to birthdays. It was part of who she was.
"I am fairly certain this has been our most interesting birthday to day," Penny agreed with a giggle. "Though, our parents might not find it so amusing!" It was strange because she was beginning to feel as though that might not be as bad a thing as she had always feared. "Twenty years old," she repeated, almost in awe. "I always imagined I'd be betrothed by now, or even married," she admitted thoughtfully.
