Penny was grateful to have a brave sister she could rely on, though she lamented the fact that her own courage had been so fleeting. How could she have executed that plan and now find herself a trembling mess now that it was done? If only she could be strong as Genevieve, she thought for the thousandth time.
But it was better unsaid because no one was kinder to her than her. Penny nodded, her gratitude plain on her face. Their backs were turned on their family now and even that was enough to ease Penny a bit, though Gen's offer still touched her.
