Genevieve hadn't known what to expect as the twins made their way inside- she was more than just a little surprised at how Mssr Spebbington still seemed quite taken with her as the girls rejoined him and their mothers. She offered Penny a faint smile before she slipped off, and did her best to keep from rolling her eyes as Spebbington started on about everything that was so fantastic about him and the home he would take her to once they were married.
She was even more surprised at how effective the little potion seemed to be- the moment Penny returned, Spebbington was on her like- well, Gen probably shouldn't think what she was thinking, as it was quite inappropriate for a young lady. Spebbington led Penny out a few moments later, and Gen looked about- her father wasn't nearby, but- oh! Bernard!
"Bernard!" she exclaimed, crossing over to her brother, who greeted her with a cheerful smile. Gen idly wondered if he'd been getting into the punch a little too much, but quickly brushed the thought aside. "Walk with me? Please? It's a bit warm in here, and could use a bit of fresh air."
Bernard agreed, and offered his younger sister his arm. She thanked him as she took it, and started outside in the same direction as her sister. But where had they gone? The two siblings had only been outside for a few moments when she heard her sister's voice.
"Penny!" she exclaimed, her eyes widening. She dropped her hold on Bernard's arm as she rushed toward the voice, coming to a dead stop when she found her sister and the so-called gentleman.
"Mssr Spebbington!" Oh, Gen couldn't help but be glad for the presence of her brother. Bernard marched up to the suitor and pulled him off of Penny, grasping him by the coat. "And what are you doing with my sister?"
Gen stepped quickly to Penny, reaching for her hands, checking to make sure that she was alright before hugging her again.
