Abby came to an abrupt stop as Rena stepped between her and the kitchen, and she nearly dropped one of the plates. She caught it, then straightened, blinking in surprise. "I don't mind helping," she started, not handing the dishes over just yet.
To be honest, Rena still made her a little uneasy. Abby tried to stay out of her way, not wanting to upset her any more than she already seemed to have done. That wasn't to say that she completely ignored her, but most of their conversations to this point had been rather short and- well, a bit awkward, in Abby's opinion. Abby didn't quite know what to think of Rena-- to be quite honest, a part of her would always worry that Bridget loved Rena more, or that she'd go to Rena first for things. And Abby couldn't really fault her that- after all, Rena had been there, the entire ten years that Abby had not.
"Honestly, it's just a few dishes- I think I can handle it."
