Gen hadn't done much more than push her food about her plate at lunch, a bit unhappy with the squab. She wasn't rude enough to tell her mother that she didn't enjoy the lunch, but had eaten enough to hold her over for a bit.
She was thinking of going to see if Julius could spare a few minutes for her, but she thought she'd pick up some food from the kitchens before heading outside. Pulling the door open, she glanced to either side to be sure her mother wasn't passing through before slipping inside. She paused in her tracks, surprised, when she found that she wasn't alone.
Oh, it was only Bernard. She smiled, crossing over to see what he was doing, plucking a slice of cheese and popping it into her mouth. "Hello, Bernard."
