Hatter nearly scared the living daylights out of her when he peeked over the table. The immediate trauma left her cookieless and her heart pounding. After recognizing the trademark hat and the voice that followed along, Alice relaxed. Years spent in Wonderland, knowing Hatter, she still wasn't use to the never-ending surprises that came with it.
"Honestly, Hatter, you scared me half to death," she said in a scolding manner. Her hand was glued to her chest, half expecting a heart attack to occur and was relieved it still managed to beat.
Alice's interest sparked when he mentioned a unbirthday, her unbirthday. The party was meant for her? "Oh, why wasn't I informed? If I would have known, I would have worn something more appropriate for this occasion," she said, frowning at her blue dress. Silly her, forgetting every day, except her birthday, was her unbirthday.
