"Ode to The Stone." Ani read the title of his poem to a group of scarf wearing mortals in skinny jeans holding coffee and watching him intently. In his mind he was giving them a treat. A dark place of his soul in written form. A piece of Fae. In reality he was spewing off really bad poetry that even a Fae would be ashamed of, but he couldn't see things like that. These particular young people didn't laugh, and he took that as a good sign, but there was still a silence in the air that made him grunt before starting his poem.
"What have you done to me? A shadow of my heart pulses, and the rage is a paradise. Hard - oh so hard! I will crumble beneath your rotten flesh. Tiny pebbles of my soul. Soft - oh so soft! I am the torrent of hate. And I hate you."
"I hate you too!" A guy yelled and people laughed, although they were mostly clapping. Ani narrowed his eyes and grinned at the silly mortals. So fragile and pathetic. He walked away from the microphone and to the back of the room behind a couch and against the wall near a window. He watched as the next person went up and from the looks of her flowery dress and ragged curls, likely speaking about love and her cats and whatnot. Ani grinned and crossed his arms over his chest. Maybe he'd follow her home tonight.
