He was taking a break between assignments. That morning had been spent with a scattered variety of 'clients', faeries needing help adjusting. That afternoon he had to help a brownie family find a place to live that was suitable to their tastes and needs, and he had a feeling it was going to be on the side of busy.
But for the moment, he needed to head to a store - the human mall to be precise. Not a place Incy particularly liked, because it was too enclosed. With artificial, re-circulated air that was stiffling, and the noise and clatter of too many humans indoors. And all of the things, scratchy man-made materials and the scent of chemicals.
But he needed to pick up some new shoes, because human made shoes were in general, appauling and painful, he had found, and the ones he had purchased made his feet sore. He needed to get his hands on a good pair of faerie boots, something made of soft and supple materials, but until then he needed to make do.
He was in a department store looking for shoes that would be comfortable and not synthetic, when he saw a sheen of glittering red and heard a splat. Eyes glamoured to hazel but truly a deep leafy green flickered up and watched the pixie pry herself away from the window and dart into a dress, only to become human-sized.
"It's not cruel," he disagreed when she spoke to him, shaking his head which made his earthy brown curls bob. "It's assessing. I'm guessing you didn't just grow a coin purse." He kept his voice low because he didn't want to draw attention. Incy was good at blending in, thanks to the glamour that hid the pale green tint of his skin.
